Gary Aldrich

This was a #1 best seller during the Clinton administration and for good reason. As the FBI contact in charge of clearing White House staff and Clinton administration personnel, Aldrich had firsthand knowledge of the circus the Clintons brought with them. While the information was revealing and depressing, this book really needed a strong editor. Aldrich is an FBI man, not a writer. He repeated many stories and phrases and often ends up sounding like a little boy crying that the game just isn't fair. The chapters are in subject order and often jump around chronologically, making things a bit difficult to follow. Plus, being FBI, the man has no personality. I often had the voice of Joe Friday from Dragnet reading the text in my head... perhaps I should seek professional help.
