John Fischer
Note that the title is NOT "Making Real What YOU Already Believe." This is not a self-help book, though it can be used that way. Rather, it is the telling of how Fischer uprooted himself and his family from comfortable California, forcing Fischer to determine how much of his faith, and even his identity, was actually his and how much was derived from his many church connections. A very interesting read that will challenge you in your own beliefs and life, hopefully making you (and me) seek deeper into who I am and my relationship with God and with others. Having written that, I realize that there is very little in the book that deals with God directly. Most of it concerns John and his carving out who he is in relationship to God and others. Definitely not preachy.
