The Lord of the Rings

by J.R.R. Tolkein

It was nice to read the full text after having only seen the animated cartoons. Generally, a good story line that at times got bogged down in the kind of geneological/historical detail that I'm sure makes geekier fans gush with delight. It kept my attention well but I didn't rush to lunch each day just to read.
