Slab Rat

by Ted Heller

Zach Post works at a glossy magazine publishing firm. He fears his career has plateaued but he's barely over thirty. Enter Mark Larkin, a new guy who zooms up the ladder. So Zach plots with his coworker to, em, remove Mark Larkin with Zach making it look like his mentally unstable coworker did it all. This book was supposed to be dark comedy but I found it more despondant than that. Not exactly an enjoyable read but pretty good for a first novel. A better book in a similar subject was The Ax by Westlake.

Two Gristles.
