Actually three books in one bookclub hardcover edition! Contained within are the humorous adventures of Wuntor, who turns out to be the Eternal Apprentice, thus causing him to be constantly be surrounded by side-kicks to the side-kick. Through the many adventures he is pursued by Death who hopes to find him alone so he can end this Eternal Apprentice thing once and for all! The best book was the middle one in which they came head to head with Mother Goose, a master story weaver who makes others fall under her spell with the simple words "Once Upon A Time"... Also of note was the Demons who attempt to overthrow the world via Conquest By Committee! Again, good but not great.
